BDDA couldn’t do the work it does without a supportive team of volunteers offering their time. People volunteer for all kinds of reasons, to give something back to our community, to share your knowledge and skills and keep busy, to learn new skills, to get work experience, to boost confidence etc.. Volunteering can be regular or for one off events so how much time you give is up to you. We have various roles including Support opportunities, finance and admin, reception, retail, IT, community café please ask if you’re looking for a specific opportunity. BDDA is a great place to come and volunteer, a place where you can expect to be accepted, trusted and empowered as part of a team to give your best.

If you are in receipt of benefits, you must tell the office that pays your benefit about any volunteering you are planning to do before you star.

They will advise you what, if any upset this may have on your benefits. For example, if you claim Universal Credit your volunteering can add up to half the time you agree to spend looking for work in your ‘Claimant Commitment’. The Job Centre actively encourage people to volunteer.

Our team of volunteers and staff pride themselves on creating a friendly and warm working environment. Contact us for an informal chat and for more information.
